    The seamless integration of ePowerSwitch devices in a KVM system using the RS232 interface not only offers the option of a controlled restart. Alarm states from monitoring functions are immediately transferred, triggering emergency actions ensuring uninterrupted services this way.

    Complementing with an ePowerSwitch a cost optimization is given in addition. Unused hardware can be temporally and spatially turned off (e. g. on weekends and holidays) and thus contributes to the savings in energy costs. The control is effected comfortable either directly using the KVM hardware (for example, a DVIVision or DL-Vision) or by the web interface of the ePowerSwitch.

    Application

    • From the local console of the G&D KVM extender a switching command is sent to the remote console.
    • The command is transmitted via a RS232 connection to the ePowerSwitch 1G.
    • The connected device is switched.
